3 episodes about Kathleen Scott, which I've written and performed, will be broadcast on the first three Sundays in March, (11th, 18th and 25th March, 2012) at 19.45 on BBC Radio 4 . Called, 'A Father for My Son' they follow Kathleen's life up to the death of Scott in March, 1912.

A Father for My Son will be playing at the Scott Polar Research Institute in Cambridge on January 18th, 18.30 (See following links). The 17th/18th January 1912 was when Scott reached the South Pole, 100 years ago. Travel back in time with Kathleen Scott, wife of the legendary polar explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott, for a female perspective on love and life at the turn of the 20th century. It was a great honour to be invited to Buckingham Palace for a reception of Exploration and Adventure on the 8th December, 2011 by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. This was all because of my play about Kathleen Scott, 'A Father for My Son'. 2012 is the centenary of Scott's reaching the South Pole and the death of Scott and his companions on their return journey.

I have just recorded another episode for the 'Archers' in Birmingham, as a midwife this time. It goes out on April 6th. Jenny Stephens was the director.
I've just recorded another Book at Bedtime. It's called, 'Flush' by Virginia Woolf and is the biography of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's spaniel. It was abridged and directed by Sara Davies and is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 the week beginning 21st Feb at 10.45pm every weekday that week.
In a way it was revisiting as, in 1995, I played Elizabeth Barrett in, 'The Barretts of Wimpole Street'.
I'm performing A Father for My Son for the Arthur Ransome Society at 2.30 pm on 13th Nov at Kington Langley Village Hall (near Chippenham) and on 18th Nov. at 7.30 pm at Rattery Village Hall. The latter is under the Villages in Action Scheme and tickets can be bought on line at their website.
It was fun recording The Archers (Jackie Osborne) the other day. The episode I was in was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 30th July 2010. Director: Julie Beckett.
